Social Media Meets Print
In our blog "ElymediaFrenzy," we have covered several stories about print publishers embracing social media to attract and keep readers:

— Food52
We are currently creating social-media strategies for several lifestyle clients, and we are always excited by the creativity of major brands in this new medium.
Food52 is a crowd-sourced food-and-recipes website, inviting readers to submit recipes for a weekly contest which will, at the end of 52 weeks, culminate in a cookbook published by HarperStudio. The site itself is lots of fun, especially if you like to cook or eat (isn't that all of us?). I was lucky enough to record an interview — and included it in our blog post — with the founders Amanda Hesser and Merrill Stubbs. It's a great story which details the collaboration of two very smart women and a very astute publisher.
Elymedia has been involved with Social Media Marketing since its inception. SVAMA Morning Forum:
Social Media Brand Monitoring
You're invited! Elymedia is producing a monthly forum on Social Media under the auspices of the Silicon Valley American Marketing Association (SVAMA). We meet on the fourth Tuesday of every month to talk about some aspect of Social Media -- blogging, podcasting, wireless media, social networks and more. We will be hearing case studies from companies that are utilizing Web 2.0 in their ongoing marketing plans and from suppliers and resources who have capabilities and case studies of their own to share.
This month SVAMA Presents:
“Social Media Brand Monitoring
(brands that listen make better friends)”
Daniel Laury, President & CEO of LSF Interactive,
will be presenting ideas and case studies on how to use social media to know: what your customers say about your brand; how to engage in a conversation with them to counter the negative talk; how to get customers to adopt your brand and use your services; and how to develop positive buzz through social media.
Daniel will give us several entertaining examples from NakedPizza, JetBlue, and AOL, along with an in-depth look at the Social Media Monitoring tools available and what metrics to track.
About the Speaker: Daniel Laury founded the successful Internet company LuckySurf (LSF Network) in 1999 and LSF Interactive in 2005, and has since led the two organizations to their current positions as global leaders in online marketing. In 2007 his company was recognized as one of the Inc. Magazine 5000 list of fastest growing private companies in America (and the Bay Area's 32nd-fastest growing private company).
His backgrounds in international finance, marketing, and technology are a perfect match for a winning business model in performance-based online marketing.
