"Emerging Collaboration Technologies:
Wikis, Blogs, and More"
Emerging Media - Morning Forum
(Silicon Valley American Marketing Association)
Wednesday, December 17, 2008 - Palo Alto, CA
These are troubled and harried times. With staff- and support-reductions of all kinds, we are all looking for tools to help us be more efficient with fewer resources and still look like All-Stars. This month's SVAMA Morning Forum on Web 2.0 will present "Emerging Collaboration Technologies: Wikis, Blogs, and More," presented by Pierre Khawand, Founder & CEO, People-OnTheGo.
Wikis are used as specialized knowledge-bases, similar to Wikipedia.com, and as a collaboration tool without the usual reliance on group emails. With wikis you can cut down email volume and on time-consuming meetings, and wikis accelerate project cycles.
Blogs have revolutionized the process of publishing information on the Web, as well as the sharing of information within companies.
In this session, we will explain the benefits of blogs and wikis, demonstrate the steps involved in creating them and using them, and show how they can be useful for business professionals. At the end of this meeting, you will have the information you need to define the vision and purpose for your blog and/or wiki, as well as many insights into how to go about implementing them.

Elymedia is producing the monthly forum on Web 2.0 under the auspices of the Silicon Valley American Marketing Association (SVAMA). We meet on the fourth Wednesday of every month to talk about some aspect of Web 2.0 -- blogging, podcasting, wireless media, social networks and more. We will be hearing case studies from companies that are utilizing Web 2.0 in their ongoing marketing plans and from suppliers and resources who have capabilities to share and case studies of their own.
